healing the waters of the northwest straits
We worked with Northwest Straits Foundation by developing a brand identity to help them establish and strengthen relationships with community partners, supporters, and legislators. Our discussions established that there were two core communications challenges. The first challenge was to represent the complicated relationships between three organizations: the Northwest Straits Foundation, the Commission, and the Initiative. Shew Design addressed this issue by building three logo concepts that worked when combined together or on their own.
A second core challenge was to convey an overarching vision that connected the Northwest Straits projects themselves together with the benefits provided by each organization. Shew Design addressed this by developing an annual report that profiled each project in terms of goals, resources, and outcomes. A full-page image accompanying each project vividly spoke to the diversity of the Northwest Straits projects and the impact each had.
The Northwest Straits Foundation has a library of photos that many supporters have contributed to the organization, which allowed the brand to feature photography heavily in its printed materials.
