mission oriented design

Friends of the San Juans initially approached us to upgrade the look and feel of its shoreline owners manual that is delivered to all those living on the shoreline of San Juan Islands.

Friends knew it was time to create something more visually compelling but were also looking for guidance in streamlining the process of collecting, organizing, and presenting information in their stewardship guide. We created an updated look and feel for their organization through the design of this booklet. The branded look we created was applied to additional materials including their annual newsletters and display signage. The logo was also updated to reflect these changes in type and color and to be easier for them to use.

All of their print materials were produced on uncoated environmentally conscious papers. It takes a little more work to make sure colors and photos print accurately on uncoated paper, but the resulting look and texture is in line with their mission and message.

Shew Design helped clarify our organization’s message and materials through brilliant design and a thorough approach to content. The result is a far more compelling message and professional image that better reflects the work we do and why it’s important—given the complexity of our organization, this was no small feat!
